(1) PRINTS
In 2005 Beken converted to digital photography using the latest Canon Eos
1DS mkII 16.7 mega-pixel cameras. Digital prints are now available from
all the Beken negatives from the 1880’s right up to today’s
modern digital images. Beken are renowned for their quality and resulting
digital prints are in many ways superior to those achievable in the past.
Over the last 120 years we have used negatives of various size and some
images may be too square to fill the rectangular paper size requested. We
will endeavour to give you the biggest print possible within the paper dimensions
& in the event of no specific cropping instructions we will use our
best artistic judgement. |
(2) CANVAS PRINTS
Available from the historical archive images from the 1880’s to
today’s modern colour digital images.
Printed directly onto canvas and stretched onto a 2” thick wooden
frame. With wrap around edges if possible, black if not. Each canvas has
a hardboard backing for rigidity & the surface is laminated for protection.
Being lightweight, the finished product may be hung from a single (but
substantial) nail.
The results are impressive especially the larger sizes.
A price reduction of 10% is offered should you require the canvas rolled
with no stretcher.
(3) HIGH-RES DIGITAL CD
Modern photographs taken on 16.7 mega-pixel cameras giving 50 mega-byte
files. Strictly for AMATEUR use only on websites, plus you may make
your own prints up to A3 size for crew, family & friends but not for
public circulation or used for commercial products or advertising either
for financial gain or illustrating a lifestyle. Not part of discount
offer on prints or canvases. Beken retain Copyright in the images.
FREE PROOFS
Available on request, see the BOATSEARCH page. Proofs are only a very
rough representation of the image. If the proof is in colour you may request
prints in Colour, Sepia-Brown or Black & White. If the proof is in
black & white then only Sepia-Brown or Black & White results are
available. The image reference numbers from 2005 onwards start with the
date (year/month/day). 1888-2004 image reference numbers follow a different
numbering system. Ask for years if required. The images may be available
for you to reproduce under licence, from personal & social use, to
commercial advertising. Ask for details. |
