PRINTS
PRINT:~ Supplied in full Colour, Sepia-Brown or Black & White. Titled, Signed & Dated. Each is re-touched, hand-worked, and enhanced to bring out the best result possible. If supplied rolled, please unroll them on a large flat clean surface & avoid any rough handling. Ideally take them to your framer first & unroll them there. They should be mounted with an overlay cut-out border so that the print does not touch the glass. Due to the shape of the original negative, the chosen dimensions may not be as originally requested.
MOUNTED:~ As above with white 5-8cm border, cut-out overlay Mount Card & Backboard.
FRAMED:~ As above with 1cm wooden Black Frame: (delivered in UK only).
In 2005 Beken converted to digital photography using the latest Canon Eos 1DS mkII 16.7 mega-pixel cameras. Digital prints are now available from all the Beken negatives from the 1880’s right up to today’s modern digital images. Beken are renowned for their quality and resulting digital prints are in many ways superior to those achievable in the past. Over the last 120 years we have used negatives of various size and some images may be too square to fill the rectangular paper size requested. We will endeavour to give you the biggest print possible within the paper dimensions & in the event of no specific cropping instructions we will use our best artistic judgement.
Framed prints can be collected from Cowes or couriered to the UK only (£20).
CANVASES
Available from the historical archive images from the 1880s to today's modern digital images. Printed directly onto excellent quality canvas and pre-stretched onto a 2' thick wooden frame with wrap around edges (if possible). Each canvas has a hardboard backing for rigidity and the surface is laminated for protection. Being lightweight, the finished product may be hung from a single (but substantial) screw or nail. The results are impressive especially the larger sizes.
A price reduction of 10% is offered should you require the canvas rolled with no stretcher. Call to place this order.
DIGITAL FILES
For Photographs taken since 1945 (with some exceptions). Older pre-1945 images are not available as digital files for amateur use.
HI-RES AMATEUR USE:~ High-Resolution 5-6 megabyte Digital Files on a C/D. You may display the images on your own computer, share with others, plus use on an amateur website & make your own prints for your crew, family & friends but not for public circulation.
HI-RES LIMITED COMMERCIAL USE:~ High-Resolution 5-6 megabyte Digital files on a C/D. Photo-shopped without image alteration. Price includes the above amateur uses plus use for professional brokerage or charter adverts for that boat on commercial websites and in magazines, brochures etc. Please enquire for pricing details on more comprehensive commercial usage ie using a Beken image to advertise your company's products, image or lifestyle.
